Kevin McKenzie
East Coast Leader of the Month | January 2025
Account Manager
Boston, MA
Kevin McKenzie might not be able to walk on water (at least, not that I know of), but he’s capable of almost anything else. As the leader of our team at One Dalton—the site of Massachusetts’ priciest real estate—Kevin oversees an environment where luxury is the standard. One of the penthouses recently sold for $40 million, the garage resembles an exotic car showroom with incredibly tight spaces, and the residents are accustomed to getting whatever they want, whenever they want it. Adding to the allure, One Dalton is attached to the Four Seasons, the go-to destination for celebrities, athletes, musicians, and industry moguls visiting Boston. These guests are as discerning as they come. Here, issues aren’t “problems” but rather “glitches,” and residents and guests can create a glitch for just about anything. It’s also important to note that Boston is infamous for having some of the worst traffic on the globe. So, when Kevin told me he was planning to cut our retrieval times in half and eliminate glitches for at least 30 days, I had my doubts. While he had managed to do one or the other before, never both simultaneously. Then, his client threw him a curveball—challenging him to accomplish this same goal with fewer staff. I suggested he focus on the glitches first, but Kevin and his team were determined. They had set a goal, and there was no turning back. By utilizing the TEZ system, securing the right supplies, and pushing his team to new heights, Kevin achieved the impossible. Since the second day of November, there hasn’t been a single at-fault claim or glitch, and our retrieval time now averages under 7 minutes down from the previous 15-minute standard. All of this is impressive, but there’s more. During this time, Kevin’s supervisor—a crucial role—was promoted to Assistant Manager at a new location. When we asked for leaders to help open the new site, of course, Kevin stepped up. On the Sunday after Thanksgiving, at 6 a.m., he was on-site at a location that wasn’t even his own, training the team and ensuring his newly promoted AAM had all the support needed. Though Kevin has only been with us for six months, his impact already feels as though it’s been years. As someone once said, “The greatest leader isn’t necessarily the one who does the greatest things; it’s the one who inspires others to do the greatest things.” I can say with confidence that Kevin is a great leader, and I’m excited to see the incredible things he’ll achieve in the next six months. I’m thankful to have you on our team. Thank you, Kevin.
